While on a walk along the beautiful Ria Formosa at Tavira, our founder, Catherine came across a large family of cats and kittens. They were headed by Bella who was obiously one of the mothers of the many kittens. It was impossible to ignore the cries for help so Catherine posted on Facebook to ask for help.

The call for help was answered by a great cat charity called AGA and a wonderful woman called Ellie. Ellie made the hour long journey to Tavira to do a TNR on the new colony. Without the help of AGA and Ellie, the cats may never have been helped and certainly the Silva colony would not have been formed.

Bella was taken for sterilisation. She was very sweet and was placed in a carrier box rather than trapped.
